Funeral services for Mr. Willie Arthur Taylor, of Wrightsville, will be held on Sunday, June 9, at 11:00 AM at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at 368 Bill Oliver Road in Wrightsville. Reverend Nathaniel Lemon will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery.

Willie Arthur Taylor was called home on June 5, 2013. He was born to the late Amos Taylor and Elnora Wright Scott. He joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age and attended school at Dock Kemp. He dropped out of school in the eighth grade to help provide for his family as he started working on a local farm at the age of sixteen. Mr. Taylor also worked for WF Jackson Construction Company for twenty-five years. He alos worked for Imerys Kaolin Company for seventeen years. He also worked doing other odd jobs using heavy equipment, which he loved to do.

On October 11, 1970, he married the love of his life, Mrs. Lee Ella Roberson Taylor. From this union, three sons were born, the late Mr. Gerald Jerome Taylor, Mr. Nicholas (Samantha) Taylor, and Mr. Willie (Starlet) Taylor, another son, Herbert Butler, and daughter, DeAnn Jackson, whom he loved dearly. Preceding him in death were his aunts, Mrs. Dora Taylor, Mrs. Sara Taylor and Mrs. Jackie Taylor; his uncles, Mr. Eulas Taylor, Mr. James Taylor and Mr. Theotis Taylor of Sandersville, and his uncle, Mr. E.T. Taylor.

Willie leaves behind to cherish his memories, five siblings: Thomas (Mary) Wright, Kathlean Lee, Nettie Rose (Boobie) Swint, Vera(Melvin) McBride, and Gladine(Dennis) Gibson from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, eight grandchildren: Tarrion Ahmad Taylor of Chicago, Illinois, William Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Jay Anna Jackson of Oconee, Jeremiah Taylor and Jeremiah, Joshua, and Isaiah Salter, and his in-laws, Mrs. Addie Lee Roberson (late Mr. AJ Roberson) of Tenille; and his devoted aunts, Mrs. May Taylor, and Mrs. Louise Taylor, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends at 499 Myrtle Avenue in Wrightsville
