Funeral Services for Mr. Wilbur Godfrey, 60, of Atlanta, will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Springhill Baptist Church, 494 Evergreen Road in Dublin. Rev. Winfred McCloud will officiate. Interment will follow in the Springhill Church Cemetery. Mr. Godfrey, who passed away on April 11, 2012, was born March 11, 1952, in Dublin to the late, Magnolia Godfrey and the late Charles Stanley. At a very early age, Mr. Godfrey taught himself how to play the drums. At Millville High School, he was a successful drum major and basketball player. He enjoyed sports, music and watching television. Mr. Godfrey is survived by his two sons and their spouses, Wilbur and Erica Godfrey, William and LaTasha Godfrey, one daughter and her spouse, Trevor and Yolanda Burkes, five grandchildren stepmother, Ethel Stanley four sisters, Barbara Faye Charleston, Charlie Mae Ellington, Ethel Mae Stanley, and Linda Lee, four brothers, Charles Ray Stanley, James Stanley, Gary Stanley, and Gregory Stanley numerous of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
