York, SC – Mr. Robert Wayne Boyd, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home on January 7, 2012 at the age of 64. Born in York, Wayne was the son of Ruby Brimer White and the late Howard White. He served six years in the National Guard, and also retired from Bowater with 32 years of service. Wayne also had his own home building company until he was diagnosed with cancer in 2004. Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his biological father Otis Boyd and his stepfather Howard White. He was also preceded in death by his sister Shirley McDaniel. Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Cheryl J. Boyd of the home, his mother Ruby Brimer White of York, daughters, Andrea Todd (Tommy) of Lake Wylie, Tammy Jackson (Floyd) of Gaffney, Stacy Walker (Tige George) of York, son, Robert W. Boyd Jr. of Charlotte, sister Diane Watts (Jerry) of Clover, brother Ricky Boyd of York, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends at Bratton Funeral Home on Sunday, January 8, 2012, from 6 to 8 PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 1:00 PM at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
