Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvester Mapp will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Mary Baptist Church at 2038 McGregor-Alston Road, Ailey. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery, 1855 Sawmill Road in Ailey. Minister Dee-Lonsayon Walker will officiate. Mrs. Mapp, who passed on January 21, was born September 11, 1924, to the late Charlie and Bessie Smith McCloud in Laurens County. She was a faithful member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Ailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Turner B. Mapp; four brothers, Sammie Lee McCloud, Albert McCloud, Jack McCloud, Willie L. "Shine" McCloud and six sisters, Olean Hardy, Doshie Peeples, Rose Lee Thomas, Annie Mae Smith, Naomie McCloud, and Inex Caldwell. Mrs. Mapp is survived by a special god daughter and niece, Patricia Gail (James) Brantley and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
