Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Jerome Moore of East Dublin, will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at 12:00 PM at the Washington Street Presbyterian Church, at 975 South Washington Street in Dublin. Burial will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin. Reverend Dr. Ricky Porter will officiate. Mr. Moore was born on January 30, 1930, in Dublin. He made is transition on Monday, November 26, 2012 in East Dublin. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Samson Moore and Fleta Adell Payne, respectively, and his wife, Juanita Moore. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Nancy Rickerson Stanley, who raised him. At an early age, he became a member of First African Baptist Church in Dublin and he completed his education at Washington Street High School. As a young man, he worked at his uncle's grocery store, Mr. Edwin Bates's Southside Food Center. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He relocated to Alexandria, Virginia, and was employed for 26 years at Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority. He married Juanita Lovelace in 1979 and from this union came two sons. He relocated to Dublin in 2000 and became a member of Washington Street Presbyterian Church where he served most recently as a member of the Usher Board until his health made it too difficult for him to continue. He was a loyal and active member of the congregation's Parish Group IV. He was a man of honor who loved God and many others. To cherish his memory are his beloved three sons: Steve (Joann) Wesley, Jerome (Nicole) Moore, and Jeffrey Moore who all reside in Alexandria, Virginia; one sister, Frankie Holloway of Alexandria, Virginia; and Steven's mother, Geneva Matthews of Alexandria, Virginia; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a host of cousins including his oldest remaining first cousin, Melba Baker and many friends and other relatives; and a devoted friend, Doris Wiggins. His memory will also be cherished by his Washington Street Presbyterian Church Family. The family will receive friends at Washington Street Presbyterian Church on Monday, December 3 from 6-8 pm.
