Funeral services for Mr. Nelson Lemose (Lamar) Pittman, 74, of Dublin, will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Greater New Friendship Baptist Church at 3265 GA Highway 19 South. Interment will follow in the Mount McRae Cemetery. Reverend Daryl Moore will officiate. Mr. Pittman who passed on June 25, 2012, was born on March 27, 1938, in Dexter. He was the son of Gus and Estelle Pittman. He attended Dexter High School and went to work at an early age at Lord's Sausage where he retired after more than fifty years of service. He married Hellen Coney in 1992 they would have celebrated 20 years of marriage in August. Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by his father, Gus Pittman; his mother, Estelle Pittman; his stepmother, Annie Pittman; brothers, Ossie Pittman and Solomon Pittman. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Hellen Coney Pittman, Dublin; two daughters, Patricia (William) Hood, Dudley and Jackie ( Rev. Shawn) Curtis, Dublin; two stepdaughters, Connie (Willie) Lattimore, Kimberly (Rev. Tyrone) Turner, Dublin; three sisters, Stella (Ted) Heath, Orlando, Florida, Carrie Coney, Tampa, Florida, Daisy Moore, Atlanta; two stepsisters, Doris Bell and Juanita McGriff both of Dublin; four brothers, Gus Pittman, Dudley, Melvin (Jessie) Pittman, Dexter, Willie Marvin Pittman and Harold Pittman, West Palm Beach, Florida; one stepbrother, Roy Guyton, Rochester, New York; grandchildren, Christopher Hood, Dexter, Cedric Hood, Decatur, Jasmine Hood, Dublin, Tinsley Olivia Curtis, Dublin, Jurnee Turner and Tyranee Turner, Dublin; one great granddaughter, Aliyana Hood, Dudley and a special beloved niece, Tangela Moore, Dublin. He is also survived by a host in-laws, nieces, nephews and other loved ones. The family will receive friends at 730 Brower Court in Dublin.
