Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Rose Turner Mercer, of Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at 11 AM at the New Canaan Baptist Church, 317 Carolina Street in Chester. Pastor Donald G. Way will be officiating, Reverend David Turner will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Margaret Rose Turner was born on February 1, 1967, in Dublin, Georgia, to Deacon Willie C. Turner and the late Majorie Fay Blackshear Turner. Margaret graduated from Dodge County High School in the Class of 1985, in Eastman. Mrs. Mercer earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from the Oconee Fall Line Technical College in 2009, and a certificate in Business Technology. She dedicated her life to Christ by joining the New Canaan Baptist Church at a young age. She was a choir member for over thirty years and later became the New Canaan Baptist Church Choir Director which was a position she held for over ten years. Her passions included reading, spending time with her daughters, and singing for the grace of God. She was loved by many people, and known for her soft voice, mac and cheese, and delicious pound cake. On February 24, 2001, Margaret was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Fredrick Mercer.

Mrs. Mercer passed away on September 13, 2019. She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Faye Turner Plummer, a mother-in-law, Diane Roberson, grandmothers, Ellen Hall Blackshear, and Willie Lee Butler Turner, grandfathers, John H. Blackshear, and Otis Turner, aunts Bertha Brook, and Jeannie Blackshear, and one uncle, Roger Lee Turner.

She is survived by her husband, Fredrick Mercer, daughters, Taylor Turner, of Albany, Georgia, Fe'ria Mercer, Fatiyah Mercer of Dublin, a sister, Marice Turner, of Dublin, two brothers, Reverend David C. Turner, Minister of Divinity, (Anna) of Dublin, Timothy L. Turner (Glenda) of Cochran, sisters-in-law, Michelle Mercer (Tyrone) of Eastman, Jessica Harper (Devon) of Norfolk, Virginia, Vanessa Roberson of Dublin, and a brother-in-law, Kevin Roberson (Marsha) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, aunts, Lavada Kirtz of Chester, Christine (James) Smith of Dublin, Oline (Thomas) Frazier of Miami, Florida, Louvenia (Clifford) Parker of Atlanta, Edna (Will) Barnes, of Forth Worth, Texas. Hazel Plummer of Dublin, and Geraldine Blackshear of Chester, uncles, William H. (Lenora) Blackshear of Eastman, and John H. (Yvonne) Blackshear, Jr., of Dublin, a niece, Tramitra (Ketoney) Showers of Tampa, Florida, nephews, David C. Turner III of Athens, Georgia, and Makael A. Turner of Fairmont, North Carolina, and Michael Jasper Plummer II of Dublin, great niece, Mi"Cayla Faye Plummer, and great nephew, Michael Jasper Plummer III of Dublin, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friend at 506 Pointe West Place, Dublin, and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, 6-7 PM.
