Funeral services for Mr. Leo Stanley of Dublin will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11 AM at the Green Grove Baptist Church, 2418 Highway 441 South in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Reverend Milton Hughes will officiate.

Mr. Stanley, who passed on August 4, 2014, was born on August 14, 1938, to the late Emmett and Catherine Stanley in Dublin. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Etherline Curry and Lillian Jean Moore; stepdaughter, Sharon Showers; sister-in-law, Linda Godfrey; brothers-in- law, Larry Godfrey and Clarence Moore; and nephew, Ernest Perry.

Mr. Stanley worked at Georgia Furniture for ten years and was a self employed carpenter for years until his retirement.

He is survived by a devoted wife, Brenda Godfrey Stanley; three brothers, J.C. (Lucy) Stanley, Ray Bobby Stanley of Dublin, Eveocious (Mary Jean) Stanley of Atlanta; brother-in-law, Artist Curry of Detroit, Michigan; mother-in-law, Thelma Godfrey of Dublin; sister-in-law, Angela (Willie) Blount; devoted nieces and nephews, Greg (Shelia) Moore, David (Stephanie) Moore, Kenny (Rashunda) Moore, Linda Perry, Carnell (Brenda) Curry, Gary Moore and Tara (Ray) Simpson; stepdaughters, Stacey Stuckey, Tracey (James) Broxton and Erica Banks; a devoted step granddaughter, Latrecea (Steve) Robinson and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 114 Smith Street in Dublin.
