James Roberts

Funeral services for Mr. James C. Roberts of Wrightsville will be held on Friday, June 6 at 1:00 PM at in the C.D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery in Wrightsville. Pastor Mary Ramsey will officiate.

Mr. James Roberts who passed on May 29, 2014 was born July 3, 1935 in Johnson County. He was born to the late, Mamie and Walter Roberts. He attended high school and joined Vicker Hill Baptist Church. He started serving God at an early age. He later moved to New York where he met his loving wife Arvis. He worked as a chef and later years he retired from limousine services.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ollie Ree Roberts and a brother, Horace Roberts.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his sisters, Lee (Earl) Taylor, Ernestine (Ray) Coward of Baltimore, Maryland, Ollie Mae Brooks, Retha (Lewis) Smith, Viola (Vernon) Woody of Miami, Florida; brothers, Walter Lee (Margaret) Roberts of Wrightsville, Albert Roberts of Miami, Florida; sister-in-law, Annie Pearl Roberts of Miami, Florida and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5-7 pm.
