James Higgins

Apostle James H. Higgins Sr. was born on February 5, 1936 in Newark, New Jersey. It was there that he met and married the love of his life Etheleene Wilson. He answered the call on his life in 1974 and embodied the teachings of Christ in his every moment of his life. He fed the hungry and sheltered the homeless. He created New-Ark House of prayer where he pastored for many years serving the community and the Lord.
He answered the final call of the Lord on July 24th, 2014 where he joined his wife of 49 years Etheleene Wilson Higgins.
He leaves to celebrate his life six children, Carol D. Mahan of Oxford, NC; Donna M. Higgins of East Orange, NJ; Wanda T. Holmes of Alachua, Fl: James H. Higgins Jr of Woodbridge, VA: Lisa H. King of Killeen, TX and Mark C. Higgins of Woodbridge, VA. He leaves seven grandchildren: Anthony Mahan, Chiriga N.C. Mahan, Micheal J. Higgins, Nafeesah M. Mahan, Christopher J. Benson, James H. Higgins III, Jessica L. Benson and Amirah Lane.
He is survived nine great grandchildren: Deshavjour Seymour, Az'Jharae Young, Ajahaviour Young, Brianna Mahan, Sierra Mahan, Serenity Mahan, Taylor James, Preya Benson and Promise Mahan.
He is also survived by a host of neices and nephews that will miss him dearly.
