Funeral services for Mr. Huey Smith Jr., 71, will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 2:30pm at the Valdosta Baptist Church, 1975 Hwy 199 South, East Dublin. Evangelist Tracy Holliman will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Valdosta Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Huey Smith, Jr., who passed on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, was born in Johnson County to the late Mr. Huey Smith, Sr., and Alma Smith. He was educated in the Glynn County School System at Risley Elementary and High School. He was a former employee of Tanner's Recycling, Gilbert's Paper Mill, and Laurens County Public Works. He joined the Valdosta Baptist Church at an early age. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Huey and Mrs. Alma Smith, Sr., siblings, Mr. Ralph Smith and Mrs. Annie Lee Hines. Mr. Smith leaves to cherish his memories, five children, Mr. Huey Smith III, Mrs. Tracee (Adrian) Edwards, both of TN, Mrs. Valdrie (Demetrius) Williams of Macon, Mrs. Wanda (Leroy) Howard of Warner Robins, and Benjamin Smith of Macon, siblings: Josephine(Robert)Clark of Lumber City, Judith (Willie Frank) Smith, Jackie (John) Foreman, Connie (Jack) Foreman, Delores(Willie) Rozier, Mr. Amos Smith, and Tony Smith, all of Dublin, uncles,Tommie(Susie) Coates, Mr. Edison Taylor, aunts, Mrs. Ruby Knight of Chicago, IL and Mrs. Rita Mclendon of Miami, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Mr. Smith will be placed in church one prior to service. Visitation will be at the home of his sister and brother in law, Jacqueline and John Foreman, 506 Benton Street, Dublin.
