Funeral services for Ms. Gloria "Glorene" Montford, affectionately known as "Aunt Rene", of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11 AM at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 627 James Grove Church Road in Wrightsville. Dr. Daren Waters will officiate. Interment will follow in the James Grove Church Cemetery.

Ms. Montford, who passed on January 28, 2017, was born on October 13, 1923, in Wrightsville to the late Tommie and Alberta Martin Montford.

She received her education in the Johnson County Schools. After the death of her parents, she assumed the role of a mother figure to her younger sisters and brothers. She assisted in rearing Leroy Montford and Vickie Montford Willis.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Annie Mae Montford, Nora Hicks, Nadine Elbert, Mary Lizzie Waters, Arleane Ray, Ruby Dell Montford, and by three brothers, Leo Montford, Elijah Montford, Sr. and John Montford.

Ms. Montford leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, David (Dianne) Montford, Adrian, Tommie (Rose) Montford, Dublin, one sister, Mary Alice (Perlie) Blair, Wrightsville, one sister-in-law, Inez Montford, Miami, Florida, a devoted niece, Arlanda Willis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 807 Hudson Drive in Dublin.

The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services for viewing.
