George Washington

Funeral services for Mr. George Washington, 83, of Dublin, will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 2:00 PM at the Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 317 Linder Street, Dublin. Reverend Milton Hughes will officiate. Burial will follow at the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin.

Mr. George Washington, who passed away on August 8, 2013, was born on July 30, 1930, to the late Dorsey and Annie Mae Jackson Washington in Jeffersonville, Georgia.

George Washington was a Deacon at the Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from Bellsouth Telecommunications after 42 years of continuous and loyal service on December 31, 1994. He was a veteran of the Post Korean War and was honorably discharged from the United States Army.

Deacon Washington was predeceased by his mother, Annie Mae Jackson Washington, his father, Dorsey Washington, and his siblings, Reverend Wilson Washington, Willie Mae Price, Louise Perry, Carrie Hughes, Annie Mae Dupree and J. C. Washington

Deacon George Washington leaves to cherish his fond loving memories to his wife, Addie Lee Nelson Washington, three sons: Freddie Lee Washington of Atlanta, Ronnie L. (Donica) Washington of Portland, OR, and Dorsey Emanuel (Brandy) Washington of Macon; four daughters: Wanda C. Dixon and Patricia Ayuk (James) Jones both of Dublin, Sandra W. (Loren) Harlow of Atlanta, and Debra Warring of Stone Mountain; one sister, Aretha Coleman of Greensboro, NC; a beloved and dedicated daughter-in-law, Angela Marie Washington of Dublin; fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends at 301½ Roberts Street in Dublin. Mr. Washington will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
