Funeral services for Mr. Daniel Walker, of East Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 12 PM in the C. D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Walker, who passed on Saturday, August 23, 2014, was born born on July 19, 1949, to the late Louanna Stephens Whipple and Arthur Walker. He attended Oconee High School in Dublin until he joined the United States Marines. He was married to the love of his life, Beauty Dudley, for 30 years and God blessed them with three children. After nearly 20 years as a truck driver with Farmers Furniture, Mr. Walker retired in 2009. Mr. Walker, as "Coach Boone", faithfully coached the Falcons little league bantam football team for over 25 years. We will never forget his favorite phrase, “huddle, huddle.” Coach Boone was a motivator, father, friend, and mentor to so many youth and his goal as a coach was always to ensure all his players worked as hard in the classroom as they played on the field. Coach Boone stressed the importance of getting an education and going to college.

Mr. Walker lived a full life that included fishing with his children, going to drag racing competitions, telling jokes, sharing stories around the dinner table, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Beauty Walker, his son, Nathaniel Walker, and his brothers, Johnny and David Walker.

He leaves behind a son, Jacque’ Montez (TeShaunda) Walker, and a daughter, Danielle Walker, and three loving grandchildren, Darrien Walker, Martavius Taylor, and Justice Collier. He also leaves six sisters, Hattie Herman, Mary Helen Walker, Bernice Walker, Elaine (James) James, Corine Whipple, Vivian (Jerry) Wright, one uncle, William Lamar Stephens, and several in-laws: Mary Alice Bell, Lucindy Allen, Janice Reese, Annie Mae Dudley, and Cleveland Dudley Jr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that truly love him.

The family will receive friends at 117 Karlie Drive in East Dublin.
