Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Warthen, of Wrightsville, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Thompson Grove Baptist Church on Thompson Grove Church Road in Wrightsville. Dr. Hayward Cordy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove A.M.E. Church cemetery.

Mrs. Warthen, who passed away on August 31, was born on May 1, 1929, to the late John Warthen and Louise Pinkston Warthen. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sylvester Warthen, Johnny Warthen, Jr., and Eddie Hugh Warthen, two sisters, Linda Horne and Cornelius Warthen.

She leaves to mourn a loving daughter, Jeanette (Walter) Cooper of Wrightsville, one sister, Dohelia Armstrong of Wrightsville, and several nieces and nephews.

The family is receiving friends at the home of Jeanette and Walter Cooper, 122 Ranger Grove Church Road in Wrightsville.
