Doc Melton
YORK -- Buford "Doc" Lyndon Melton, 78, of 105 Charlotte Street passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at his home in York.
The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday August 30, 2013 at Central Baptist Church with Revs. Cary Caldwell and Owen Duncan officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Bratton Funeral Home.
Doc was a son of the late Buford and Mattie Bell Wallace Melton. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, was retired from Bowater and was a veteran of the US Navy. Doc was also a founding member of the Chapter H Goldwing Road Riders Association.
He is survived by wife Ann Morrison Melton of York, SC, son Bruce Lyndon "Pork Chop" Melton of Rock Hill, SC, brother George Melton of Clover, SC, two granddaughters, Kendell Teague (Andrew), and Presley Melton. He was preceded in death by his son Jerry Lee Melton, brothers, John Melton and Max Melton, and sisters, Rachel M. Wallace and Christine M. Byers.
