SHARON – Betty Jean Breakfield Childers, 82, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sam Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Sharon Baptist Church Family Life Center.
Betty was born August 17, 1934 to the late Walter Cebo Breakfield and Lena Little Breakfield. She was retired from the Sharon Post Office after 26 years, and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Betty was the widow of Fred “Pete” Childers.
She is survived by sisters, Kaye Canupp of Hickory Grove, SC, Ruth Jackson of Rock Hill, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved Betty like a mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brother David Breakfield.
