Shepherdess Annie Belle Whipple was born to the late Reverend James A. Whipple and Mrs. Alease Denson Whipple on October 29, 1957, in Toomsboro, Georgia, as one of thirteen children.

She obtained her education from the public schools of Laurens County where her family moved prior to her entering school. After graduation from West Laurens High School, she continued her education in business administration, secretarial training, and counseling which enabled her to secure employment with Telamon Corporation. She spent her entire job career for 28 years there where her assignments included positions as Intake Clerk, Youth Specialist-Counselor, Administrative Assistant to State Director of Georgia, and Workforce Development Specialist-Counselor.

On many occasions, she acted as assistant to the pastor at her church. After eighteen years of service, the church was renamed as Unity Church of God in Christ. In 2006, Shepherdess Stanley received her Evangelist-Missionary license. In 2007, after Pastor Elder James Phillips passed, Shepherdess Stanley and another faithful sister, Susan McRae, continued leadership of the church.

Pastor Stanley was married to Reverend Douglas M. Stanley for twenty-three years. Shepherdess Annie W. Stanley was called to her heavenly home on May 2, 2016. She was preceded in death by her four loving brothers, Willie Ben Whipple, Coty Lee Whipple, Willie James Whipple, Sr., and David Charles Whipple and three loving sisters, Gerry Jean Swint, Rosa Marie Whipple and Betty Lou Houston.

Pastor Stanley leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, Reverend Douglas M. Stanley; four children, Shumida (Randy) O’Neal, Zedrick (Angel) Willis both of Dublin, Lacey Willis of Smyrna, and Tonya Coates of Douglasville; grandchildren, Alyssa, Paris, Princeton, Niya, YaYa and Zoey; sisters, Eleanoris Payne of Dublin, and Maxine D. (Jessie) Dunning of Fort Wayne, IN, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the family residence, 227 Cascade Circle in Dublin and at Unity Church Of God In Christ, 1000 M L King Drive, Dublin, on Saturday, May 7, 5-8 PM.
