Funeral services for Mr. Adolph Demmons, Sr. will be held on Friday, November 23, at 1:00 PM at Christ Deliverance Temple Church at 403 East Garner Street in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin. Reverend Kenneth Kates will officiate. Mr. Adolph Demmons who passed on November 18, was born on September 1, 1929, in Washington County to the late Mattie and Sam Demmons. Mr. Demmons was united in holy matrimony to Mary Bell Davis. To this union five children were born. One preceded him in death Jerome Demmons. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Jessie Blackshear and Grace Hall, and a brother, Rudolph Demmons. Mr. Demmons served in the Korea War from 1952-1954 for which he received two bronze stars. He was employed at Goldkist for 30 years, and retired for health reasons. He was a very devoted and faithful fan of the Dublin Irish and of the Atlanta Braves. He also loved to play bid-whisk and spades. Mr. Demmons leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Mary Bell Davis Demmons; three sons, James (Beverly) Demmons, Adolph (Tonja) Demmons, Jr. and Sammy Demmons of Dublin; one daughter, Peggy Williams of Rentz, GA.; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; a devoted niece, Louise Hall of Atlanta; one sister-in-law, Mable Thomas of East Dublin,, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and devoted friends.
